 MISSION STATEMENT

Types of Businesses

The cost of the free spay/neuter services will be covered by the sponsorship of for-profit businesses that reside in the animal community center, the "Animal Care Mall." The businesses will be provided space in the mall in exchange for their sponsorship (similar to rent).

In addition to the spay/neuter services, the adoption center, the educational displays, and other attractions that contribute to the community atmosphere, the community center will include a variety of businesses:

Animal-Oriented Businesses

The most obvious types of businesses to include first are those that have any relevance to animals:

  • Boarding (rescue boarding and/or luxury boarding)
  • Grooming
  • Training
  • Doggie day care
  • Pet products
  • Vegan products
  • Pet-assisted therapy
  • Animal-oriented arts & crafts
  • Animal-oriented books and media, etc.

Additional Businesses

The following are additional types of businesses to include:

  • A thrift store operation that supports the community
  • Either self serve or full service coffee and/or snack bars that contribute to the community atmosphere
  • Businesses that are not directly related to animals could also be offered space with the appropriate sponsorship level (similar to renting office space) with an agreement to also donate a percentage of the profits to support the community

Priority of Space Allotment*

In order to best contribute to the collaboration of all existing local businesses and organizations, the space allocation will be prioritized as follows:

  1. Space will be offered first to existing local businesses
  2. Next, space will be offered to new local businesses
  3. Finally, space will be offered to franchise businesses

*Space would not be made available to any business exploiting animals.
